The Cure are back with a bang, with the most innovative move yet in their stellar, 3-decade spanning career, and a brand new single 'The Only One' out Tuesday 13th May.
Responsible for such classics as ‘Boys Don’t Cry’, ‘Love Cats’, ‘Just Like Heaven’ & many more besides, Robert Smith has a new vision – and that vision lies around the number ‘13’.
Their brand new studio album will be released worldwide on 13th September, with 4 consecutive, different single releases preceding the album on the 13th of each month: 13th May, 13th June, 13th July and 13th August. 'The Only One' is the first of this series, and as per the other formats, will be available on Limited CD & 7” Vinyl (with collectors boxes for both), as well as digital download. Each will have a brand new, non-album b-side.

¿The Cure y Elton John en Viña del Mar?

Quieren festejar el 50 aniversario del festival en 2009 con Luis Miguel, Shakira y más “artistas de verdad”
Santiago.- El mexicano Luis Miguel, el español Julio Iglesias y la colombiana Shakira figuran entre los artistas que podrían ser contratados para actuar en el Festival de la Canción de Viña del Mar en febrero de 2009, reveló hoy el diario "La Cuarta".
La edición digital del periódico chileno precisó que los organizadores del certamen pretenden realizar una "gran fiesta" con motivo de los 50 años del Festival, lo que /implicará contratar a "artistas de verdad".
Los productores del certamen, Canal 13 de televisión, elaboraron una "nómina preliminar" de artistas para dicho espectáculo, en la que se encuentra Luis Miguel, quien ya se presentó con gran éxito en el escenario de la Quinta Vergara en 1985, 1986, 1990 y 1994.
En la lista también están el inglés Elton John, el estadounidense Lionel Richie, los británicos The Cure, el brasileño Roberto Carlos, el guatemalteco Ricardo Arjona y el estadounidense Neil Diamond, entre otros.
Según la fuente, los organizadores ya tienen claro sobre qué harán para festejar los 50 años del festival, donde también se tiene la intención de realizar espectáculos callejeros para involucrar a los viñamarinos con el certamen.
